Sep 2003 · Marvel · 2.50 USD; 4.00 CAD
“Higher Learning, 2 of 6”

In "Higher Learning, 2 of 6," Emma Frost wakes up in the school infirmary after collapsing from a blinding headache, only to face teasing from her classmates who suspect she faked it to skip a final. When she takes the test again, she discovers she can hear the correct answers in her mind—across the room, she hears the thoughts of other students, and with no help from them this time, she still scores perfectly, leaving everyone stunned. Written by Karl Bollers and illustrated by Randy Green, with inks by Rick Ketcham, colors by Pete Pantazis, and letters by Cory Petit, this issue’s cover by Greg Horn captures the tension of a mind pushing beyond limits.

Emma wakes up in the school infirmary after having a blinding headache which caused her to pass out. The other girls tease her about doing it on purpose to get out of taking a final. While taking the test the next day, Emma realizes she can "hear" the correct answers in her head. She aces the test and is accused of cheating as she is normally a B student. She is forced to take it again but has no extra help this time from the minds of other students. She aces it again but hears Ms. Cruikshank tell Ian that her father called and threatened to pull funding if she didn't get an A+.
