Elvira, Mistress of the Dark #111

Jul 2002 · Claypool Comics · 2.50 USD; 3.75 CAD
“Austen-tation!”

In "Austen-tation!", Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, steps into a whimsical past when she and Mr. Grunt find themselves in the world of Jane Austen—complete with period costumes and a mysterious balloon pop that snaps her back to reality. Written by Jo Duffy and illustrated by Ronn Sutton, with inks by Bob Wiacek and Terry Austin, this issue blends historical parody with Elvira’s signature charm as she navigates a surreal meet-up with General Grunt and Suzie Spooky-Knight before heading to Coathanger Abbey to pitch movie deals with author Bane Austen. The cover, penciled and inked by David Goldner, captures the story’s playful, gothic flair.
