“Doom Is A Four-Letter Word!”

In "Doom Is A Four-Letter Word!", Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, swaps her usual siren act for a reporter’s notebook as the long-lost city of Altoonis erupts from the ocean depths. With help from the perpetually bewildered Dogma York-Sargant and a crew led by the eccentric Kap’n Krisp, she ventures into the unknown—only to face jet fighters and monstrous sea creatures in a tale that’s equal parts eerie and absurd. Written by Frank Strom and illustrated by Ronn Sutton, with inks by Louis LaChance and letters by Thom Zahler, this issue blends campy horror with high-seas adventure, all wrapped in a cover by the legendary Mike Allred.

Elvira becomes an on-the-spot reporter investigating unnatural phenomenons when the lost city of Altoonis rises from the sea. Elvira goes to investigate, first with the aid of airhead Dogma York-Sargant, and then on a ship commanded by Kap'n Krisp. Far out at sea they are attacked by jet fighters, then sea monsters. Story continued in next issue.
