Elektra takes center stage on Bourbon Street in this gorgeously crafted 2014 Marvel issue, rendered in Michael Del Mundo's lush, painterly style — her red ensemble and twin sais cutting a striking figure amid a festive Mardi Gras crowd. A massive ornate masquerade mask looms overhead, while ghostly figures drift through the background, giving the whole composition an air of mystery and carnival unease. Del Mundo's work here is a genuine feast for the eyes, blending decorative Art Nouveau flourishes with moody atmosphere in a way that makes this issue hard to pass up.
