El Peneca #2392
In "Peneca y Sus Travesuras," the mischievous Peneca finds himself in trouble after a wayward sling-shot hits a passerby, sending him fleeing home—only to face an unexpected visitor at his door. With a quick-thinking grin and a hairbrush held just so, Peneca spins a clever lie, pretending to be a solitary bachelor with no children. Written and illustrated entirely by Nato, this 1954 Zig-Zag gem features bold, expressive art and a classic prankster's dilemma, all captured in a striking cover by Pepo.

Peneca raised his trusty sling-shot and took aim at a mailbox, but it veered off course and struck a man instead. The man stumbled backward, clutching his forehead. Panicked, Peneca sprinted home, his heart racing with every step. But his respite was short-lived, as the injured man appeared at his doorstep, pounding on the door and bellowing, "Open up!" Peneca hesitated, and then a mischievous idea struck. He grasped a nearby hairbrush and held it up to his nose to emulate a mustache. With a straight face, he declared, "I'm afraid there are no kids living here. I'm the only man living here."
