The fourth chapter of Image's EGOs — "Ekpyrotica" — drops the team of Extreme Galactic Operatives straight into what looks like a very hostile, very biological environment, with toothy alien creatures lurking on all sides. Gus Storms's cover puts three operatives front and center: a determined young woman in aviator gear, a lean humanoid robot with glowing red eyes, and a powerfully built figure in tactical armor whose fist crackles with energy. Writer Stuart Moore has assembled a genuinely fun sci-fi ensemble, and this issue promises the kind of cosmic-scale weirdness that made Image's adventurous 2014 lineup so appealing.
