When The Count hears rumors that Egbert has been digging under his house at night, he suspects gold—and sets out to claim it for himself. What The Count doesn't realize is that Egbert is simply installing a cellar, and the "gold nugget" he discovers is actually a dental filling knocked loose by Egbert's burglar alarm. A case of mistaken treasure and mistaken identity turns this tale into a comedy of errors, with both characters working at cross purposes until the truth comes tumbling out.
Egbert's plans for a peaceful day at the circus take a wild turn when he races to warn The Count about a loose gorilla—only to find his eccentric friend has concocted a mysterious elixir designed to unleash the beast within anyone who drinks it. Before Egbert can stop him, The Count forces the potion down his throat, and chaos erupts as the formula does exactly what it promises. Now both friends must deal with the consequences of a formula gone wrong and figure out how to undo the damage before the beast inside destroys everything around them.
