The Edge of Venomverse anthology pushes further into its wild multiverse of symbiote-fused heroes with this striking second issue from Marvel's 2017 event series. Francesco Mattina's cover presents a grinning, symbiote-bonded figure in a dark cowl with small devil-like horns and glowing pink eyes, surrounded by swirling black tendrils and an arsenal of pink-and-black weapons — pistols, a bat, and what appears to be a rocket — crackling with purple-star energy at her feet. The "GwenPool" graffiti visible on the bat hints at exactly which offbeat Marvel character gets the symbiote treatment here, and Mattina's painterly, atmospheric style makes the whole thing feel genuinely unhinged in the best possible way.
