E-Man #9

From Charlton Comics' "All New E-Man" series, issue #9 arrives in 1975 with a cover by Joe Staton that crackles with energy and peril. A bald, menacing villain operates some kind of weapon device at lower left while E-Man — seen both in miniature form at upper left and tumbling helplessly inside a glowing blue energy sphere at center — is trapped alongside a red-haired woman in matching red costume, both spinning upside down within the strange containment field. "The Genius Plant" promises the kind of inventive sci-fi superhero storytelling that made this Charlton gem a standout of its era.
