Dylan Dog #6

The sixth and final chapter of Dark Horse's Dylan Dog miniseries brings "After Midnight" to a close with a cover by Mike Mignola that radiates dread in all the right ways. Dylan himself stands grim-faced in the foreground, red shirt open at the collar, while a skull-faced, scythe-wielding Grim Reaper looms behind him alongside a figure clad in a full astronaut suit — an unsettling collision of cosmic and supernatural imagery. Tiziano Sclavi's creation has rarely looked more cornered, and Mignola's shadowy, angular linework gives the whole scene a weight that feels like a fitting conclusion to the series.
