Set against a smoky, atmospheric backdrop, this fourth issue of IDW's Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms puts a battle-ready dwarf front and center — golden helm, braided red beard, and a stout warhammer gripped with unmistakable purpose. Tyler Walpole's cover painting gives the stocky warrior a grounded, almost cinematic presence, with shadowy figures looming at the edges to hint at the dangers closing in. With Ed Greenwood — co-creator of the Forgotten Realms setting itself — scripting alongside artist Lee Ferguson and inker Sal Buscema, issue #4 is a fine place to be adventuring in Faerûn.
