Duisternis #3

The third chapter of Bec and Iko's Duisternis series arrives with "Versterkte Stad," and the cover alone makes a compelling case for the whole series. Iko's artwork plunges us into a vast subterranean cavern where a colossal, spike-armored dragon — its red eyes blazing and jaws stretched wide — looms over a lone warrior who stands defiantly small on the cave floor below. The sheer scale of the confrontation, rendered in deep blues and sharp detail across every scale and claw, gives this 2012 Daedalus release a genuinely unsettling sense of dread and grandeur.
