About this Issue

Dracula: Blood Hunt #2 is a pivotal chapter in the Blood Hunt crossover event's character-driven B-plot, marking a significant moment for Brielle Brooks (Bloodline) as she is forced to confront the moral impossibility of being asked to kill her own father. The issue deepens the relationship between Bloodline and Daredevil — a priest, a lawyer, and a devil all in one — forging a new inter-title connection for Blade's dhampir daughter as she steps further into the wider Marvel Universe. Written by Danny Lore, the character's co-creator, the issue is notable for maintaining authorial continuity with the character's origin: Lore having shepherded Brielle from her Free Comic Book Day debut through her solo series and now into a major Marvel event. As part of the larger Blood Hunt tapestry, this tie-in demonstrates how the 2024 vampire event was structured to use its satellite series for intimate, character-focused storytelling rather than pure spectacle.

History

Marvel announced Dracula: Blood Hunt as a three-issue limited tie-in in February 2024, pairing writer Danny Lore — co-creator of the Bloodline character — with Italian artist Vincenzo Carratù, who had previously worked on Dead X-Men and Astonishing Iceman. Lore noted publicly that one of their primary creative goals was to bring Brielle Brooks from the supernatural corner of the Marvel Universe into the realm of its costumed heroes, a broadening they described as a natural next step in the character's evolution. The series was edited by Annalise Bissa under Executive Editor Tom Brevoort, with Rod Reis providing covers across all three issues. Issue #2 shipped on June 19, 2024, with a cover date of August 2024.
