Donald Duck & Co #19/1959
In "Markedet," Onkel Skrue, overwhelmed by stress and overwork, dreams of a peaceful haven where money holds no power—inspired by a mysterious valley in the Himalayas where wealth doesn’t exist. With Donald and the boys in tow, he sets off on a journey to find it, only for a sudden burst of nerves to send a bottle cork flying from the plane just before their jump from Tralla La. Written by Carl Barks and Helene C. Kløvstad, with art and inks by Barks, and a cover by Paul Murry, this 1959 Egmont comic captures a rare blend of whimsy and quiet longing.
