Dokus #27

The bright yellow cover of Dokus #27 sets a perfectly playful tone, showing a wide-eyed little girl in a red polka-dot dress cheerfully raising her hand at a school desk while, beside her, a bespectacled older man in a black-and-yellow striped outfit is hilariously bound head-to-toe in heavy chains and padlocks — with a large key floating tantalizingly nearby. The title Genoeg Gelachen! ("Enough Laughing!") is something of a challenge, given how hard it is to keep a straight face looking at this cover. Published by Le Lombard in 2023, this volume in Godi and Zidrou's long-running Belgian series promises the kind of warm, absurdist classroom comedy the series does so well.
