The cover by J. G. Jones says it all: Doc Savage, torn shirt and all, crouches battered on the ground while three menacing figures close in from behind a set of prison bars — one brandishing a blade, every hand decidedly against him. Part of DC's 2010 "First Wave" event, this fifth issue promises the pulp hero at his most cornered, with the grim tagline "Every Hand Against Doc Savage" leaving little doubt about the odds he's facing. There's also a second feature spotlighting Justice, Inc., making this a double dose of First Wave action for fans of the era's street-level, no-superpowers storytelling.
