DMZ #56 kicks off the second chapter of "Collective Punishment" with a cover by John Paul Leon that layers tense urban scenes across a bold, graphic design — armed soldiers in yellow patrol a crowded Asian street while a silver-haired figure gestures in close conversation against a backdrop of military vehicles and wary civilians. The large Chinese characters running down the side reinforce the "ghost protector" subtitle, giving the whole composition a charged, international atmosphere that feels right at home in Brian Wood and Nathan Fox's vision of a fractured near-future New York.
