Django / Zorro #7

The penultimate chapter of this Dynamite/Vertigo crossover series brings together two of fiction's most compelling figures, rendered here in a moody, sepia-drenched cover by Jae Lee. Django looms large in the background, pistol raised, while the caped and masked Zorro stands in the foreground, rapier in hand — a solitary bird circling in the smoldering sky below them both. With a story by Quentin Tarantino and Matt Wagner and interior art by Esteve Polls, issue #7 delivers the kind of atmosphere that makes this unlikely 2015 team-up feel genuinely cinematic.
