“Disneyland Birthday Party”

In "Disneyland Birthday Party," Carl Barks delivers a delightfully absurd adventure as Scrooge McDuck and Gyro Gearloose journey to the Moon in search of a material strong enough to cut into Scrooge’s newly impenetrable money bin—after he accidentally destroys the only copy of the combination. With a comet head in hand and a fiery rocket malfunction on the return trip, their mission takes an unexpected turn. The story, illustrated and written by Carl Barks with lettering by Garé Barks and coloring by the Western Publishing Production Shop, features a vibrant cover by Tony Strobl and Norm McGary.

Scrooge and Gyro go to the Moon to find a material hard enough to cut into Scrooge's new impenetrable money bin, since Scrooge has destroyed the only copy of the combination. On the Moon they find the material they want--a comet head--but are forced to jettison it on their way back to Earth when their rockets catches fire.
