In "Die ewig währende Phiole," the immortal Ranephi, burdened by endless life, seeks release by luring the fierce barbarian Conan to his castle, where he hopes to die by his blade. With Hannibal watching from the shadows, the fate of both men hangs in the balance as ancient promises and desperate desires collide.

In "Der Fluch der Katzengöttin," Conan returns to his desert Zuagirs to find them embroiled in a sacrilegious raid on a religious caravan. The plunder includes a cat-like idol that begins to twist the minds of Conan and his companion Fazal, driving them to act against their will—until Conan finds a way to break the curse and destroy the artifact.
