In "Die Katastrophe naht," Namor awakens in the shattered remains of Atlantis to find his people preparing to launch a devastating war against the surface world using an untested weapon known as the Hurricane Inducer. Fearing the catastrophic consequences of unleashing such power, he attempts to stop the machine—only to be branded a traitor by his own people, already distrustful after his alliance with the Plunderer.
