This eighth volume of Die Schlümpfe — published by Splitter Verlag in 2011 under the title "Schlumpfige Geschichten" — brings together a delightful collection of Smurf stories with contributions from creator Peyo alongside writers Yvan Delporte, Raoul Cauvin, and Raoul Cauvin, and artists including Roger Leloup, Lucien De Gieter, Marc Wasterlain, and Benn. The sunny yellow cover, drawn and inked by Peyo himself, charmingly captures one Smurf painting a vivid bouquet of flowers while a second Smurf looks on in wide-eyed wonder, with an artist's palette and brushes scattered nearby. It's a warm, inviting snapshot of the whimsy and gentle humor that has made these little blue characters so enduring.
