“Das ist die ... Entscheidung!”

In "Das ist die ... Entscheidung!", Pepper and Happy, uneasy after Tony Stark's sudden disappearance, decide to resign from Stark Industries. The next day, Happy investigates Stark's home and finds him alive—but only in armor, hiding beneath the sheets. As the Mandarin unleashes a massive space-laser to devastate Stark's factory, Iron Man must vanish into disguise, posing as a bearded stranger in a coat, and flee to China to face Koto, the Mandarin's deadly robot. Written by Stan Lee and Hartmut Huff, with art by Don Heck and inks by Dick Ayers, and colored by Stan Goldberg, this gripping tale features a cover by Sal Buscema and Jack Kirby, with inks by Sam Grainger and Chic Stone.

Pepper and Happy, unsettled by Tony Stark's disappearance, go to Iron Man and tender their resignations. The following day, Happy, playing detective, breaks in to Stark's home. Tony is wearing his armor but not his helmet. He conceals his armor by jumping into bed. He assures Happy that all is well and that Iron Man should be trusted. The Mandarin uses his giant space-laser to destroy much of Stark's factory. He seemingly kills Stark. Stark as Iron Man disguises himself as a bearded man in a large coat, and boards a plane for China. He confronts Koto, the Mandarin's robot, and is defeated.
