In "Vorsicht, wenn der Bulle kommt...!", the X-Men are sent by Professor X to investigate a new mutant, leading them to a traveling carnival where they meet the Blob—a massive, bouncy sideshow performer whose body defies bullets and gravity. Though the team welcomes him to the mansion, the Blob declines and returns to the circus, forcing the X-Men to bring him back to erase his knowledge of their secret.

In "Der Kampf mit dem Submariner," Professor X's curiosity about Namor's origins sparks a clash between ideologies when Magneto invades the Sub-Mariner's underwater realm with an offer to join the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
