“Dick Tracy and the Case of the Killer Crooner”

In "Dick Tracy and the Case of the Killer Crooner," Dick Tracy finds himself in a deadly game of cat and mouse when Tonsils, hired by the shadowy Mr. Crime, takes aim with a high-powered rifle during a peaceful boat ride with Sparkle and Bonnie. As the boat spins out of control down the river, Tracy vanishes into the water, leaving Sparkle struggling to keep it on course—while B. O., alerted by a gunshot, races along the bank to investigate. Written and illustrated by Chester Gould, this gripping 1954 installment delivers suspense and danger in the signature style of the legendary strip, with every panel drawn by Gould himself. The cover, also by Gould, captures the moment of tension with stark, dramatic precision.
