“Dick Tracy and the Case of the Killer's Revenge”

In "Dick Tracy and the Case of the Killer's Revenge," Dick Tracy races against time when Blowtop traps Junior in a barrel rolling toward a 250-foot drop into an abandoned quarry—only for a turtle to halt the barrel just in time. With the patrol car reporting the scene, Tracy and Sam arrive as the barrel teeters on the cliff’s edge. Meanwhile, Blowtop, struggling to fence stolen money, hides in a hotel where Vitamin Flintheart accidentally walks into his room, mistaking it for his own. Believing Blowtop to be a wealthy investor, Vitamin convinces him to fund a play, setting up a tense and unexpected alliance. Written and illustrated by Chester Gould, with inks and letters by Gould, the cover by Gould captures the high-stakes tension of the moment.

Blowtop and his men seal Junior in a barrel and send it rolling slowly toward a 250-foot drop into an abandoned quarry. As they leave, they pass a patrol car. The patrolmen report the incident to Tracy. The barrel holding Junior is stopped by a turtle, and Tracy and Sam arrive at the quarry just in time to keep Junior from rolling off the edge of a cliff. Blowtop is having little luck fencing stolen cash and hides in a hotel. Vitamin Flintheart unknowingly enters the room, thinking it's his own. Believing Blowtop to be a rich investor, Vitamin talks him into producing a play.
