As the 1947 gang war between the forces of Lips Manlis and “Big Boy” Caprice heats up with killings suffered on both sides, matters are further complicated by the apparent disappearance of Manlis. “Big Boy” orders Itchy to find his missing mobster rival. Dick Tracy and Pat Patton (now deputized) raid the Manlis gang and all are nearly killed by a bomb planted by Pruneface. As the bomb explodes, Tracy has another momentary WWII flashback. Tess Trueheart goes undercover and learns why her father was killed. Tracy and Patton track Pruneface smack into an encounter with “Big Boy” and Flattop.
