In "The Getaway," Dick Tracy narrowly escapes a fiery chase when he's dragged behind Measles' car, his coat tearing loose as he rolls into a ditch—where the police soon find him and rush him to the hospital. Meanwhile, Gravel Gertie holds off two of Measles' henchmen with an axe, while Measles himself abandons his car, vanishing into a lineman’s aerial tent before slipping toward a railroad watchman’s residence, hoping to disappear into the night.
