Destiny: A Chronicle of Deaths Foretold #2

The second installment of DC/Vertigo's 1997 miniseries carries a suitably haunted cover by Kent Williams, depicting a robed, hooded figure clutching a book above a crowned skull perched atop a despairing, outstretched hand — a meditation on mortality rendered in muted, painterly tones. Subtitled "Book Two: Black Death," this issue pairs writer Alisa Kwitney with artists Kent Williams and Scott Hampton for what promises to be a brooding continuation of the chronicle.
