Descender #4

Dustin Nguyen's watercolor artwork is doing something special on this cover — a massive, battle-worn combat robot looms at center with glowing red eyes and a rust-scarred torso, its enormous arms spread wide in an unmistakably threatening posture. The muted, atmospheric palette of pinks, blues, and deep grays gives the hulking machine an almost painterly menace that sets Descender apart from most science-fiction comics of 2015. Jeff Lemire and Nguyen's "Tin Stars: Part 4" promises a story as visually distinctive as this striking image suggests.
