Descender #17 opens the five-part "Orbital Mechanics" arc with a cover by Dustin Nguyen that is quietly breathtaking — a small, shadowy boy-figure stands atop a jagged asteroid laced with coiling mechanical cables in red, black, and gold, all of it drifting through a vast, ink-dark cosmos. The image captures the series' signature tension between fragility and strangeness: one lone figure suspended in an immensity of space, surrounded by scattered debris as if the universe itself is coming apart. Jeff Lemire and Nguyen continue to make this one of Image's most visually distinctive science-fiction titles.
