Der Rote Korsar #1
This German-language collection from Carlsen Comics presents the first volume of Der Rote Korsar, titled 'Der Teufel der Karibik.' It compiles the early adventures of the Red Corsair, a swashbuckling pirate hero navigating the treacherous waters of the Caribbean, originally created by French artist Victor Hubinon and writer Jean-Michel Charlier. The edition is part of the 1985 series that brought this classic European comic to German readers for the first time in a collected format.
In "Der Teufel der Karibik," Der Rote Korsar seilt sich von seiner Galeere ab, um eine spanische Brigg zu überfallen — und nimmt ein kleines Kind als seinen Sohn, Rick, mit an Bord. Written by Jean-Michel Charlier, Hartmut Becker, and Paul Derouet, and illustrated by Victor Hubinon with inks by Eddy Paape, the story unfolds with the stark, atmospheric art of Yves Thos on the cover.
