A face peers through a rust-streaked porthole on this thirteenth issue of Matt Kindt and Sharlene Kindt's underwater murder mystery — the number 13 repeated across the watercolor-washed cover like an ominous countdown. The worn, bolted hull and that shadowed, partially obscured figure framed in the circular window perfectly capture the series' mood of claustrophobic suspense six miles beneath the surface.
