Summertime mischief is front and center in this oversized 1961 Dell Giant, where Nancy — red bow in her hair and looking thoroughly exasperated — wrestles with a tent pole and canvas while a sheepish pal gets tangled up behind her, and Sluggo happily munches a sausage straight off the grill, a whole string of links coiled at his feet beside a crackling campfire. A green picnic basket sits nearby, suggesting the gang came prepared — at least for eating. Written by John Stanley with art by Dan Gormley, this cheerful slice of outdoor chaos is a great reminder of just how much fun a 25-cent comic could deliver.
