Death of Wolverine: The Weapon X Program #1
Spinning out of the Death of Wolverine event, this 2015 Marvel series opener — written by Charles Soule with art by Salvador Larroca and colors by Frank D'Armata — dives straight into the shadowy legacy of the Weapon X Program. The cover, also by Larroca, is a striking study in crimson and silhouette: a helicopter hovers before a pale moon while a chaotic swarm of figures fills the air, and in the foreground a clawed combatant surges upward amid the carnage. It's a moody, atmospheric image that immediately signals something dangerous has been unleashed in Wolverine's absence.
