Death, Jr. #2
From Image Comics in 2006, this second issue of Death, Jr. delivers the series' signature blend of the macabre and the playful. Chad Pfarr's cover art depicts a small green-masked figure in a red coat — Death Jr. himself — reaching out toward a towering, shrouded specter draped in red ribbon, while two odd companions (a blue-skinned girl and a pink-helmeted figure) look on from behind. With Gary Whitta's writing and Ted Naifeh's art driving the interior, this quirky series continues to charm anyone who likes their supernatural adventures with a healthy dash of the wonderfully weird.
