Deadpool the Duck #4

The fourth chapter of this delightfully absurd 2017 Marvel miniseries brings us the duck-billed, red-suited mashup himself — Deadpool the Duck — rendered in an adorably compact form, hands pressed together in a pose somewhere between prayer and scheming, while an arsenal of rifles, handguns, shotguns, and rocket launchers fans out behind him like a very heavily armed halo. David Nakayama's cover perfectly captures the comedic tension at the heart of the series: something this cute should not be this heavily armed. With Stuart Moore writing and Jacopo Camagni and Israel Silva bringing the interior to life, issue #4 delivers the strange, gleeful energy this unlikely fusion has been building toward.
