The second chapter of Marvel's gleefully unhinged Deadpool Killustrated delivers one of 2013's most charming cover images: a dripping, lily-pad-covered Deadpool rising from a swamp with a rocket launcher leveled point-blank at a wide-eyed Tom Sawyer, fishing pole in hand. Mike Del Mundo's cover art plays the gag with a straight face — the pastoral, storybook-style painting evokes classic illustrated literature right up until the red-suited Merc with a Mouth crashes the scene. Cullen Bunn and artist Matteo Lolli promise exactly what the tagline delivers: "Butchering Stories from Literature's Finest Authors," and this issue is apparently Huck Finn's Mississippi River neighborhood's problem now.
