Deadpool #63
Part three of the "Funeral for a Freak" arc finds Deadpool in a visually striking pose — slumped and seemingly lifeless in the arms of a dark, winged, hooded figure wielding a staff, the whole tableau suggesting peril and consequence in equal measure. The cover art by Alvin Lee and Udon is moody and detailed, framing the Merc with a Mouth against a cold, rubble-strewn backdrop that gives the scene a genuinely somber weight. With Frank Tieri writing and Georges Jeanty on interior art, this 2002 Marvel issue promises a compelling chapter in one of Deadpool's more dramatically ambitious storylines.
