“How Low Can You Go? Part 1: Dead in the Water”

Part of Marvel's 2009 Dark Reign event, this issue drops Deadpool into what promises to be a gloriously messy confrontation — the cover by Jason Pearson captures Wade Wilson mid-leap, guns trained on a massive, snarling symbiote creature looming up from below, all set against a backdrop of shattered rubble. Pearson's energetic linework gives the scene a kinetic, almost comedic edge that suits the Merc with a Mouth perfectly. With Daniel Way writing and Paco Medina on interior art, "How Low Can You Go? Part 1: Dead in the Water" sets an appropriately chaotic tone for whatever comes next.
