Deadpool #49
The "Evil Deadpool" arc reaches its conclusion in this 2012 Marvel issue, written by Daniel Way with art by Salva Espín and colors by Guru eFX. The cover — penciled by Ryan Stegman and inked by Michael Babinski — sets a wonderfully absurd tone: under a glowing full moon, Deadpool winds up to deliver a shovel blow to Evil Deadpool, who leans cheerfully against a gravestone reading "Here Lies Dead Deadpool," whistling musical notes without a care in the world. It's a perfectly Deadpool scene — equal parts violent and ridiculous — that promises a fittingly chaotic send-off to this arc's twisted rivalry.
