“Evil Deadpool Conclusion: Hail to the King, Baby”

The "Evil Deadpool" arc reaches its conclusion in this 2012 Marvel issue, written by Daniel Way with art by Salva Espín and colors by Guru eFX. The cover — penciled by Ryan Stegman and inked by Michael Babinski — sets a wonderfully absurd tone: under a glowing full moon, Deadpool winds up to deliver a shovel blow to Evil Deadpool, who leans cheerfully against a gravestone reading "Here Lies Dead Deadpool," whistling musical notes without a care in the world. It's a perfectly Deadpool scene — equal parts violent and ridiculous — that promises a fittingly chaotic send-off to this arc's twisted rivalry.

Deadpool tries to prove to Captain America, Interpol and everyone else who is chasing him that there is an Evil Deadpool running around doing very evil things. As Deadpool is having a final showdown with his doppelganger, Evil Deadpool menaces Interpol agents with a gun and they mow him down. Deadpool is shocked to watch his double turn normal and die, something Deadpool himself wants desperately to do.
