Deadman: Dead Again #2

Issue two of this five-part 2001 miniseries brings together two of DC's most compelling characters under the haunting subtitle "A Family Funeral." José Luis García-López and Kevin Nowlan's cover presents a striking visual contrast: the ghostly white-skinned Deadman — clad in his red costume with the bold "D" emblem — floats ominously above a grimly determined Batman who cradles an unconscious Robin in his arms, while shadowy, claw-like tendrils curl at the edges of the composition. The sense of vulnerability and supernatural dread is palpable, making this a compelling chapter in the Steve Vance–written series brought to life inside by the veteran art team of Jim Aparo and Rick Burchett.
