Deadly Class #14
Five teenagers congregate in the shadow of a massive, foreboding tree in what appears to be a graveyard — one slumped on the ground with bandaged wrists, another in a studded leather jacket looking dazed, while the remaining three cluster nearby in a moment of uneasy tension. Wes Craig and Lee Loughridge drench the scene in deep purples and cool teals, giving the 1988-set story a moody, nocturnal atmosphere that feels equal parts coming-of-age and genuinely unsettling. Rick Remender's series continues to make teenage alienation look this beautiful and this dangerous all at once.
