“Verandering doet....”

In "Verandering doet....," the merged Hulk and Banner face a terrifying internal struggle as the green giant fights to protect the man within while Banner desperately tries to end his own life. Written by Al Milgrom and Joost Timp, with art by Milgrom and Dennis Janke, this gripping special sees the Hulk break free from Gamma Base, pursued toward Samson's nutrient bath—only for Ross's interference to send Rick crashing into it. The cover by Mike Zeck and Bob McLeod captures the moment's intensity, as the Hulk’s desperate escape leads to a shocking transformation.

With the Hulk and Banner merged once again, he is restrained at Gamma Base as he continues to switch from one to the other. Banner tries to emerge from the Hulk's chest and kill himself while the jade giant is forced to protect him. The Hulk escapes from his restraints and is chased toward Samson's nutrient bath. Ross tries to monkey with the equipment being used to cure Banner of the Hulk and, when Rick intervenes, Ross knocks him into the bath. The Hulk is submerged in the same tank and busts out of the side as the grey version of the Hulk but he quickly reverts to Banner.
