De Kiekeboes #65

Volume 65 of Merho's long-running Belgian comedy series finds a lone blond figure — Dédé, judging by the title De Comeback van Dédé — completely encircled by a ring of scowling, dark-haired thugs in matching brown jackets, all cracking their knuckles with menace. The cover does a wonderful job of building tension through sheer numbers, with Dédé looking rattled but still standing his ground at the center of this tightening human noose. If you've been following the Kiekeboes family's adventures, this 2010 Standaard Uitgeverij entry promises the kind of scrappy, humor-laced confrontation the series does so well.
