DC presenterer #5/1988
In the shadowed streets of Gotham, Batman’s pursuit of the Reaper takes a dangerous turn when he forms an uneasy alliance with a cabal of mob bosses. With Rachel by his side and the Reaper’s violence escalating, he pairs with their enforcer, Joe Chill, in a bid to stop a killer whose justice is as ruthless as his methods.
In "Lynvingen det andre året Tredje kapittel: Dødelige allierte," Batman, haunted by the weight of his past, confronts the Reaper using the very gun that took his parents’ lives. With Joe Chill, a man bound by guilt and memory, he sets a trap that draws the killer into the open—only for the Reaper to vanish once more into the shadows.
In "Lynvingen det andre året Fjerde kapittel: Slik skal dere høste," Bruce's proposal to Rachel is cut short when the Reaper strikes during a meeting of mob bosses. Batman arrives too late to prevent the chaos, and as the Reaper vanishes, Joe Chill lies unconscious—only to be killed moments later by the same killer. When Batman confronts Chill in the alley where the Waynes died, the past comes crashing down, leading to a final, brutal clash between the Dark Knight and his relentless foe. The story ends with Batman disposing of Chill’s gun at the Wayne Foundation and Rachel choosing to enter a convent, her path forever changed.
