☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis volume collects the early 1970s Superman stories that saw the Man of Steel lose his powers, face a Kryptonite-powered villain, and undergo a major status quo shift as he battled foes like Brainiac, Lex Luthor, and Titano, with key supporting roles from Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Supergirl. It's part of DC's Finest line, gathering the era's defining tales in a comprehensive edition.
In "Superman Meets Super-Houdini!", Superman takes on a new role as guardian to Gregor, a grieving teen whose father has just died, only to find the boy harbors deep resentment after an accident left him with unpredictable animal transformations. As Superman helps Gregor learn to master his powers, their bond grows—until a moment of sacrifice tests everything. Written by Leo Dorfman and brought to life with classic precision by artists Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson, this emotional story features a cover by Neal Adams that captures the weight of the moment.
