Superman charges fist-first through a crumbling landscape on this striking 1979 cover by Ross Andru and Dick Giordano, while three impostor versions of Mister Miracle — in his distinctive red, yellow, and green costume — surround him on all sides. The cover copy makes the stakes deliciously clear: three phony Mr. Miracles are closing in, and whoever the real one is, he's promising that one solid punch will end both the fight and Superman's life. Steve Englehart's "Winner Take Metropolis" looks like exactly the kind of double-cross thriller that made DC's team-up anthology such a fun read.
