Dazzler #37 from May 1985 takes its story title — "The Girl in the Machine" — quite literally, as the cover by Mary Wilshire and John Byrne shows a red-haired young woman tumbling through a chaotic tangle of mechanical wreckage and glowing orbs while a figure at a control console looms in the background. The sense of danger and disorientation is palpable, with sparks and debris flying as Dazzler herself watches helplessly from a small inset corner. It's a visually compelling snapshot of a series that always kept its heroine in the thick of things, and this issue looks no different.
