Dark Reign: Elektra #5
In "Dark Reign Elektra Part 5," Wolverine shields Elektra from Nico’s assault, giving her space to recover before guiding her toward the man who placed a bounty on her life—a SHIELD agent now working for HAMMER seeking vengeance for the Blackhawk Helicarrier’s destruction. As Elektra closes in on her pursuer, Osborn intervenes, casting doubt on her past and framing her as a cold-blooded killer, all while the truth of her capture by the Skrulls remains shrouded in uncertainty. Written by Zeb Wells and illustrated by Clay Mann, with inks by Mark Pennington and colors by Matt Hollingsworth, this issue’s tense, character-driven drama is brought to life by Lee Bermejo’s striking cover.

Wolverine saves Elektra from Nico and allows her time to heal from her wounds. He puts Elektra on Nico's trail and she is led back to the man who has put the bounty on her head--a SHIELD turned HAMMER agent who wants revenge on Elektra for bringing down the Blackhawk Helicarrier, killing all of his comrades. Osborn interrupts the confrontation and tells Elektra that she was captured by the Skrulls only after the Blackhawk incident, making her a cold and ruthless mass murderer.
